The episode began with Dev discussing the investigation with Abhir, Vani, and Uditanshu. Dev carefully analyzed Sheetal’s behavior and explained that she did not appear nervous at all while speaking. According to him, her confidence suggested that she was telling the truth. Dev then mentioned that understanding body language is an important part of observation. However, while recalling Sunny’s earlier behavior, Dev became doubtful and felt that Sunny had lied intentionally for some unknown reason.
Vani quickly noticed Dev’s concern and followed him to ask what was troubling him. Dev clarified that he was not scared of the enquiry because he believed they had done nothing wrong. Instead, he was disturbed by Sunny’s strange actions. Dev admitted that he could not understand why Sunny had lied to the investigator when everyone knew the truth. Vani reminded him that Sunny himself had suggested pretending to be Dr Dev in front of Chandini and that several people were witnesses to it.
Even after hearing this, Dev felt helpless and said there was no point confronting Sunny because Shristi supported whatever Sunny was doing. Dev emotionally recalled his college days and revealed that he, Sunny, Girish, and Shristi had all studied together. He also shared that Ishita’s marriage happened with Sunny only because of their friendship, showing how deeply he trusted him in the past.
The conversation then took an emotional turn when Vani started explaining Dev’s “inner circle.” She told him that people like Girish, his parents, Jia, and Pratibha were truly close to him, while interns and business partners belonged to the outer circle. According to her, Shristi stood somewhere in between. Vani also revealed that Sunny and Devayani were once part of the outer circle, though she herself did not know the exact reason behind the distance.
Curious, Dev asked Vani where she fit in this circle. Vani smiled and teasingly told him that she was his entire world because they once loved each other. Both of them immediately stopped the couple and questioned them. Sheetal finally confessed that she loved Rocky and did not want to marry the NRI chosen for her.
Dev connected the dots and asked if that was the reason she wore sneakers under her lehanga and accidentally tripped. Sheetal admitted that she had received Rocky’s call and rushed to answer it, but lost balance after stepping on the carpet.
