The morning after Ishaan’s dinner visit the atmosphere at home is tense. Indrani pulls Nayanika aside and asks her directly why she lied. Nayanika says she went out for personal work. Shreya jumps in and asks whether personal work now means spending time with a celebrity. Nayanika asks what exactly is wrong with that. She tries to walk away. Shreya stops her and says the issue is the lie not the outing. Nayanika turns around and tells them she has every right to decide what she shares and what she keeps to herself. Jaya tries to calm things down and reminds Shreya that Nayanika is older and deserves some respect in how they speak to her. Shreya says age does not matter when it comes to protecting one’s own dignity.
Nayanika has had enough. She tells them she is going to shift to her hospital quarter with Ujjaini. Indrani says so now she does not need them anymore. Nayanika stops and explains — after the divorce she wanted to leave but Baba and Kaka asked her to stay. She stayed for them. Indrani says she knows that but she just wants to understand what this personal work actually was. Shreya adds that Ishaan himself mentioned dropping Nayanika at Madhavi’s house so the story does not quite add up. Jaya defends Nayanika again. Shreya says a close friendship forming in just two days with a complete stranger does not look normal — and if it was innocent why did she feel the need to hide it. Nayanika tells Shreya she is not a college girl who needs to answer these questions. She walks out without touching her food.
Across the city Ishaan is sitting with Ujjaini’s revelation in his head. Nayanika is divorced. He keeps turning that over.
Late that night Nayanika is writing a poem when Ishaan calls. She answers and immediately scolds him for calling so late. Ishaan says he called someone he is close to. He asks when they can meet tomorrow. Nayanika says she will be busy. Ishaan tells her his heart keeps telling him to be around her. Nayanika cuts him off sharply. She tells him she knows what he is doing — he found out about her situation and now thinks he can take advantage of it. She tells him being a celebrity does not give him that right. She asks him clearly whether he heard everything she just said. Ishaan says yes. She tells him not to contact her again and ends the call.
Ishaan sits alone and cries. He says he will not disturb her. But he cannot pretend what he feels is not real. He tells himself he never connected with girls his age — and then he saw Nayanika and something just clicked. He has been waiting for someone like her without even knowing it. He genuinely loves her.
The next morning Ujjaini tells Nayanika her friends want to invite Ishaan to their fresher party. Nayanika asks if they can even afford his fees. Ujjaini says she will figure it out and notices Nayanika’s mood is flat but does not push. Later Ujjaini’s friends tell her to just go to Ishaan’s hotel directly since he is leaving tomorrow. They decide to go.
Ishaan has already made up his mind. He is leaving Kolkata. When Nayanika calls he looks at the screen and does not answer. Nayanika stares at her work and cannot focus. She thinks about it for a while and then decides — she needs to meet him.

Nayanika telling Ishaan he is trying to take advantage of her situation was painful to watch because she clearly does not believe what she is saying — she is just scared. Ishaan crying alone after that call felt completely genuine. The fact that she called him the very next day and then decided to go to his hotel says everything her words were trying to deny. Shreya was irritating but she was not entirely wrong — and that is what made the family scene so uncomfortable to sit through.
