Shreya is not backing down. She tells the room plainly that the way Ishaan behaves around Nayanika does not look normal to her and she wants that said out loud. Nayanika asks her to stop, telling her this is humiliating. Shreya holds her ground and says she is talking about Ishaan’s behaviour, not Nayanika’s — and what she sees is a man becoming increasingly desperate. Nayanika’s father steps in quietly and says that how something looks depends entirely on the mind reading it. Indrani takes a different angle altogether. She reminds everyone that Nayanika is her daughter-in-law and should conduct herself accordingly. She lists out everything that has been bothering her — the house visit, roaming around with Ishaan, and then inviting him home for dinner on top of it. Nayanika’s mother asks Indrani why she is speaking to her daughter this way.
Nayanika has heard enough. She asks Indrani one direct question — she is no longer Neil’s wife, so by what logic is she still Indrani’s daughter-in-law. She goes further and brings up the puja where she was not allowed to participate alongside the other daughters-in-law of the house. She tells Indrani clearly that she does not hold that position in this family and she will not wear the veil that comes with it. Her father stands beside her. Her mother asks her to calm down.
Indrani shifts focus and brings up the concert — Nayanika had said she wouldn’t attend and then changed her mind, accepted a bouquet from Ishaan on stage, and said nothing about any of it to the family. Shreya adds a sharper edge and asks how much Nayanika was paid for the song she wrote. Nayanika’s father pushes back and asks what exactly the problem is with her writing. Indrani says her other daughters-in-law simply do not do these things. Rusha, sitting nearby, says that is because none of them are as talented as Nayanika. Indrani tells her to be quiet. Nayanika’s mother says she wants to take her daughter home with her for a few days. Nayanika tells her she cannot — Ujjaini’s exams are approaching and she has a seminar to attend. She assures her mother she is fine and the conversation closes there.
Elsewhere Ishaan has called Ujjaini to ask how Nayanika is doing. Ujjaini tells him Nayanika is not well and that more tests are scheduled for tomorrow. Nayanika hears this and asks Ujjaini why she is sharing all of this with Ishaan. Ujjaini hands the phone to her mother and goes to get water. Nayanika tells Ishaan not to worry about her and to focus on his work. Ishaan tells her he cannot concentrate on anything because she is on his mind. He asks about her pain. Nayanika pulls back completely — she tells him their relationship is a formal one and she has no interest in sharing personal things with him. She does not want to talk and ends the call. Alone with her thoughts she sits with the fear she has been carrying quietly — the chest pain feels serious to her and she cannot stop thinking about what would happen to Ujjaini if something were actually wrong.
The next day Dr. Shikha runs through the situation with Nayanika and tells her she needs an ultrasound and an MRI. Nayanika agrees. Shikha then tells her something heavier — a lump has been detected and she is concerned. She suggests Nayanika show the reports to Neil given that he is an oncologist. Nayanika refuses without hesitation. Meanwhile Ujjaini is talking to Shirsho who tells her Nayanika is genuinely remarkable and asks what the full story is between her and Neil. Ujjaini tells him about Neil’s affair with Angana and how Nayanika, rather than accepting it, pushed him to marry Angana instead. Shirsho takes that in. Ujjaini realises she needs to get back to Nayanika and leaves.
Back with Nayanika, she sits down and begins to write. Dr. Shikha reads what she has put down. Ishaan’s words keep coming back to her as she does.

Editor’s Take
The scene where Nayanika cuts Ishaan off on the phone and then sits alone with the fear of what this illness might mean for Ujjaini was the quietest and heaviest moment of the episode. She is not telling anyone, not Neil who is actually an oncologist, not Ishaan who clearly wants to be there, not even her own mother. She is carrying all of it alone and trying to hold herself together for a daughter who does not yet know there is anything to worry about. The confrontation with Indrani and Shreya was sharp but this is the thread that is going to drive everything forward. Ishaan already sensing something is off suggests that no matter how hard Nayanika tries to keep this to herself, it is not going to stay hidden for long.
